Elvira Deguito Ramos, 70, of Hilo, died May 17, 2017, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born Jan. 3, 1947, in Quezon City, Philippines, she was the proprietor of an accounting firm.

David Boyle
David James Boyle, 77, of Keaau, died Dec. 21, 2017, at Hilo Medical Center. Born on July 4, 1940, in Tacoma, Wash.; he was a retired high school teacher.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
He is survived by sons, Troy Boyle, Todd Boyle and David Boyle of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter, Theresa Boyle of Tacoma, Wash.; brothers, Art Boyle of Tacoma, Wash. and Ron Boyle of Keaau; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Masako Tateishi
Masako Tateishi, 93, of Pepeekeo, died Dec. 4, 2017, at home. She was born in Hilo and was a retired seamstress with the former Y. Hata Dry Goods and a member of Honomu Hongwanji Mission.
Private services held. No monetary donations.
She is survived by sons, Brian Tateishi of Pepeekeo and Dean (Caren) Tateishi of Maui; sisters, Annette Hatakenaka of Pepeekeo and Patsy (Mino) Takaesu of Hawaii Kai; two grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews.

Francis Perez
Francis (Francisca) Perez, 93, of Hilo, died Dec. 20, 2017, at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center. Born in Kohala, she was a retired housekeeper, member of United Puerto Rican Association, former Family Christian Center and an avid Kachi Kachi dancer.
Friends may call at 11 a.m. Jan. 4 at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo for a noon service. Burial follows at Alae Cemetery. Family requests casual attire be worn.
She is survived by daughter, Barbara Reveira of Hilo; sons, John (Rachelle Yamashita) Perez, Jr., Leroy (Katie) Perez, Thomas (Marjie) Perez, all of Hilo; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Melvin Viloria
Melvin “Mel” Viloria, 74, of Waimea, died Dec. 1, 2017, at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born Sept. 7, 1943, in Honolulu, he was a retired chief agent for Hawaiian Airlines at Keahole Kona International Airport.
